Quote: Birthright citizenship in the United States of America follows from the rule of jus soli whereby any person born within the United States and subject to its jurisdiction is automatically granted U.S. citizenship. This status is unaffected by the legal status or the citizenship of that individual's mother or father. American Indian tribal members are not ...

If an American citizen has their baby overseas or in a foreign country is it denied its American citizenship? Is it automatically a citizen of ANY of those other countries. NO We are the ONLY country in the world that "grants" citizenship by birthright.

I have told this story before but it's worth repeating. An acquaintance of mine was transferred to London, they were expecting a child so his wife went along with the move. In a few months, their new baby boy was delivered. They were under the impression that their child was automatically a UK citizen until their doctor informed them that this was not the case! He told them that one parent had to ...

As much a I would like to kick every illegal alien's a$$ before he/she started walking home at his own expense, I do not want the law changed that says a baby born on this soil is a United States citizen. I do not want the mother automatically a shoe in for citizenship either. And I don't care if that breaks up families. She can go back home with the baby and deal with her own government, or she...

The "child" does not have immediate citizenship rights. They must become "of age" before they have rights and WHEN the parents are deported(as they should be)nobody says that they cannot take their child with them. It is the bleeding heart fools that try to say that because the child will some day be an American citizen that they are unable to leave the country and since a child needs parents that the...

Dga, I saw it on Lou Dobbs and he had the Senator who heads the committee who himself was upset because no talks were held and it was slipped into his committees bill. I found this earlier today. I would like any eleccted member to bring things to the floor for a vote not sneak one pass us! That is the real issue i am talking about. Just took a google search to find this. I geuss what i'm not putting into words what i am thinking because i agree with you but i think that the children don't have a choice if their parents break the law, so they should have a choice where they want to live when they come to an age when they are responsible enough to make that decission. I know from the experiences of a friend that the actions of another family member can ruin the chances of my friend to ever become a...
