The statement that the parties and therefore majorities don't change is off the mark. Historically (since the Civil War), when one party gets a large majority, the other party adjusts by changing its positions. The Republicans of the 1940's were far more liberal than those of the 1920's. Since 1980 both parties have moved to the right, although the Democrats have been slower at doing it. The ...

Quote: It was folly for Israel to with draw from south Lebanon. compleat skier, I'm not so sure yet. Israel is in a very strong diplomatic position now that they do not occupy any of Lebanon. It is Hizbollah who has miscalculated badly. There will be no need to carve out a new secuirty zone by the end of Israeli operations. neckbert

_that_ dude has his head up his ass. the isolation tehran and syria are feeling is due to other (sunni) arab countries attempting to curb iran's (shiite) influence in the region. last i heard saudi's haven't stopped funding madras's. and terror/jihad is alive & well in iraq, where it wasn't previously. if _you_ want to believe what he's saying though, go right ahead.

hey he's a mythologist - perfect. seriously - he should stick to greek mythology. bush doctrine is not winning otis it is rallying the forces of evil if anything. but like i said, if _you_ would like to think it's working, go right ahead - it doesn't reflect very well on your ability to interpret information though.

not me otis, i've said from the beginning - we bought 'em, we own 'em - unfortunately. the intelligent thing to do would have been staying in afghanistan and making it right. but your boys weren't intelligent about it. i actually supported going into afghanistan. going into iraq was dumb. and now, from what i understand, things are becoming _less_ stable in afghanistan. so we have that going ...

Bob postulates : afghanistan? afghanistan? afghanistan? seriously, dude, that's a side show. That is some seriously f__ked up reasoning Bob. Where did Bin Laden base his training camps and launch 9/11 from? Iraq? The folks that support victory at any price or this war is our war seem to forget that we went to that very place, Afganistan to remedy a situation that was brought about by ...
