I think Torre's staying is a wise decision --- the weekends loss really stings of course, but seems hard to imagine a replacement . A change right now would be nothing more than a "knee-jerk reaction" on Georges part , and that would not be good. Knee-jerk reactions can lead to later regrets . I ...

The funny thing about managers is that when a team does really poorly when it shouldn't, it's "it's not the manager's fault they didn't perform" and while true, it's inconsistent with praising a manager for his players performing well. What we can really judge a manager on his the decisions he makes, and Joe Torre has made awful ones the last few years, and it's not a coincidence that he doesn'...

When the decision was made a few years ago to fill the roster with stat sluts, me-first players and bad citizens, they probably should have changed managers then. Joe's not a good manager of that type of player. He is a great manager of inwardly motivated, professional players who want the team to win and will do whatever they can to make that happen.
