I feel so bad. DD has her first cold. I am so thrilled we made it 9 1/2 months, but am bummed, of course, that she is sick. She has a cough and I can hear her wheezing a little through the monitor. I called the nurse just to see what OTC to give her and they wanted to see her, and they said it is just a cold but I hope it goes away fast! Any words of advice or wisdom? Mommys Sweet ...

Do you have one of those cool mist humidifiers? That's always helped Nora breathe easier when she's coughing/congested. Otherwise just try to keep her head elevated if she's really plugged up and maybe try a little VIcks Baby on her chest. It doesn't have the chemicals in it than regular Vicks does. Nora Judith 7/2/06

Did you tell the nurse that she is wheezing? Anytime my boys are wheezing, they have me give them breathing treatments with a nebulizer machine. You may want to bring her to urgent care if she is truly wheezing. If she is just stuffy, try the humidifier and elevate the head of the bed a bit. I hope she feels better soon! -Anne Kyle James 1-11-07 Eric Michael 3-20-05...

it's so hard, I know. We made it to about that age as well and when DS got sick, it was a doozy. We ended up sleeping with him (which we rarely do) and putting him in his crib around 3am. Is her head elevated? Those crib wedges really help. Samuel Francis 11/3/06
