£1000 car 4dr reliable | Thread profile

prefer something smaller but not sure what to get. just for winter - so main car can be garaged till summer. prefer petrol - and not going to do many miles 306 ? octavia ? would I get an old focus for £1k ? cheers David

VW Golf/Polo or mostly any vw brand. But you could get a 2.0 classic sport n/a impreza.

306 Diesel Turbo. You'd get a focus for £1500 if you look on pistonheads.

Nissan Almera. No cambelt to change, 100% reliable no image.

I sold my Nissan Primera last year for £800 - it was a surprisingly good car, boringly reliable, dirt cheap to run and amazingly nimble for its size. I actually miss it occasionally.

Mondeos are dirt cheap and pretty good all rounders.

Saab 9000
