To get my rail inspected and tagged, it has to have a "real" emergency brake. The old cables (drum brakes in the rear) had been cut off by a PO and there is no ratcheting handle or mount of any kind between where the seats are to be mounted. I have looked around the net but all I can find are the cables , new levers and lever repair kits etc. Does anyone sell the handle/mounts etc as a...

Berrien Buggy makes both the floor mount,and the ratchet base to mount the e-brake. I used both pieces,and it is a slick installation! _________________ if it has wheels or tits,it will make your life difficult!! 1970 type one vert,1915 powered sandrail with swingarm bus tranny

Why not use a stock VW hand brake mechanism and mount it forward of the shifter as there isn't much room between the seats on most rail buggys for a hand brake. That way you can use stock length cables and add a mechanical steering brake in the future if you want.
