Just sent my 18-70 back to Nikon due to really bad back focus in the 18-35mm range (50mm - 70 mm it's just fine). Since my D80 is just fine, what inside the lens can be adjusted or fixed to solve the problem? Thanks - John

It is my understanding that AF-S lenses have a programmable auto-focus offset (or maybe a table of offsets for different focal lengths). When the camera tells the lens to move the focus point, the lens adds the offset value to the one supplied by the camera. Non-AFS lenses can't do ...
