Quote: OLYMPIA, Wash. — An atheist group has unveiled an anti-religion placard in the state Capitol, joining a Christian Nativity scene and "holiday tree" on display during December. The atheists' sign was installed Monday by Washington members of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, a national group based in Madison, Wis. With a nod to the winter solstice...

I do hope that the Christians research the sponsors of the atheist sign and boycott all their businesses during our holiday. If someone can find a list I'll be more than happy to boycott the atheists businesses. Why should they benefit from a holiday that they don't honor.

Why should they be boycotted for expressing their beliefs? They can believe however they want to. And their display is among others, not replacing others. Guess some people will not be satisfied until everyone thinks like they do.

Its sad when something that is supposed to be so good can bring out so many negative feelings in people. I really enjoy Christmas and its just sad that people have to make it into something negative.

I thought placing the sign next to a Nativity Scene was meanspirited and obnoxious. Particularly when you read the last lines of the message. I don't see any other reason to slam religion other than for meanness. It's nothing I would be proud of. I'm not religious at all, but I love to eat! So, light the Minora, Spread hay around the Nativity, Fire up the Christmas tree and pass the ...

Now, if this display had been put up INSTEAD of another display, I could see where you were coming from. But this was put up along with other displays. It didn't replace anything else. You see it as offensive, someone else may see the nativity as offensive. But if people started demanding your nativity be taken down, then you'd be raising cain too. I think this is pretty cool. It shows that ...

As I pointed out if they feel the need to put up something disrespectful about Christmas I would really like to know what stores the members of that group own or have stock in so I could avoid shopping there or doing any other type of business with them. I don't put up signs that are disrespectful to any one else's religion.

Getting back to the main topic I think it is just insulting to have a sign put up near a nativity saying in effect religion is stupid and there is no God. It's only meant to create a reaction and get attention. So what do atheists want anyway? Get rid of Christmas? Don't think that will ever happen when so many believe all around the world. It's not just an American holiday. Just what is there agenda? If they do not want to...

I like the way Ben Stein puts it ... Quote: Herewith at this happy time of year, a few confessions from my beating heart: I have no freaking clue who Nick and Jessica are. I see them on the cover of People and Us constantly when I am buying my dog biscuits and kitty litter. I often ask the checkers at the grocery stores. They never know who Nick and Jessica are either. Who are they? Will it change my life if I know who they are and why they...
