I tried Reaper this past weekend and it is teh awesome. It is super fast and lightweight, works with my Phonic Helix firewire mixer, and my laptop can record 4 tracks at once no problem. The editing features are (for me, a computer nerd) incredibly obvious and easy to use. Light years ahead of cubase le (the version that came with the mixer). I am going to put it through its paces this weekend...
