I have two mics - an AT5100 and an AT3000. What's the best way to record vocals with either/both of these? I know neither are made for vocals, but they're all I have. Should I stereo mic my vocals? Is there a difference between applying gain and raising the level in the mix? Logic tells me no, but I don't know much about recording. I'm sure I'll have more in the future. Thanks.

absolutely. first off, what are you using to record, and through what? that's probably the first thing to get out of the way.
