I was at Knockhill on Sunday for the first round of the Scottish Championship. Shooting with a 5D and a 300F2.8. I have to say I was extremely disappointed with the performance of the 5D. It was much worse than my old 10D as far as the keeper rate is concerned. In TV mode with a shutter speed of either 320 or 400 and AI servo mode, focus was all over the place. Hi, You are of course correct that a 1dII would be a much better choice. Although I like my bikes, I prefer riding them to photographing them and thus I'm not sure I have enough commitment to spring for a 1DII. I can't think where else I'd find it useful. Thanks for the advice anyway. Regards... Steve

Hi, I'm not sure my advice would have been much help to you. I have very little experience at motorsport photography. It is just something I fancied trying my hand at due to my interest in bikes. Regards... Steve
