I'm trying to find some Skype type software (having found out that Skype does not work on the P990i due to it being Symbian) I can load on my P990i but cannot find any. Does anyone know of any? I'd like to use it via the Wifi capability on my P990i while on the continent and within range of my accomodations free wifi access. awbMaven

Hi, I have tried Fring on my Nokia E65 (also Symbian) but it is not always successful in finding my LAN. Fring advised this is a known issue they are working on. So this is for information and not a recommendation at this stage. Of course, YMMV. http://www.fring.com/ No connection. Watis

Just one more thing. If you have purchased your phone via a network operator, it may have had its OS messed with to prevent voip working over Wi-Fi. Now I wonder why they would do that ;-) The solution is to reflash the ROM, bearing in mind you'll lose any factory presets for ISP's etc. I

http://www.google.co.uk/search?num=100&hl=en&safe= off&q=P990... No, reflashing means re-installing the manufacturers OS effectively, which in your case will be their flavour of UIQ 3. Presumably you'll want the English version as well..;-) http://my-symbian.com/main/index7.php?cat=7 Master resetting will just take the phone back to the state it was bought in, ie network messed ...

Infrasonic, Thanks. Regarding: "Are you shure the phone hasn't had its IMEI no. blocked?" I've previously popped in a T-mobile SIM and a Virgin mobile SIM and was able to make calls, so I don't think the phone is buggered. awbMaven
