ok so i only owned melee for about 3 months till my ***** ex sold my gamecube, and therefore its fair to say that i sucked royally at the game, competitively speaking. but ive been playing 64 for years and the level of deepness in the combos and strategy keeps me coming back for more. since the release of brawl, and 500 wasted dollars on wii+the game, ive realized that 64 is just so much ...

In 64, the hitstun was enormous, making combos the defining characteristic of the game. Z canceling and grab were also way overpowered in that game. Granted, it's a great game. There are just too few options in my opinion. In Melee, there's the most depth out of all the Smash series. The quick answer to your question is, yes, Melee is much, much more technical than the other Smash games ...
