Once again, another woe of setting up my new computer. I can't seem to find the installation disc for AT&T... I've searched for downloads online, but I can't find any. My searching abilities are weak though. So right now I have no internet on my new computer and I'm trying to get the issue resolved. I tried setting up through the Vista connect to the internet thingy... but that's not really ...

So, you have a wireless computer, connecting to what? A DSL Modem? Cable Modem? Wireless Router? A Wireless Router/Modem Combo? Probably you'll need model numbers for more specific help. I know with DSL, usually if you go through the Internet connection wizard, it'll get you rolling, but that's if your directly connecting through the modem (not wireless).

I've never heard of those CD's actually having any worth and would be completely shocked if I heard of one that did (and ashamed/worried that the ISP would require special software. Just what are they tracking that they can't already get?). In short, you've got a settings issue. Are you getting a wireless signal? Can you ping your router? Ping 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 from a command ...

Sometimes you need those disk's due to the connection being PPPOE. And thats if you don't know how to create the connection. Do you know if your connection requires PPPOE? If it does you can create your own connection http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q283070/ Thats for xp, but there are ones for vista as well. Thats also mostly if you are connecting directly to the modem. If ...

Basically I need that disc for the USB receiver drivers. I'm trying to connect to a wireless router from a desktop PC. The router is a 2Wire 2710HG-B and I'm trying to connect through Vista 32. The connection wizard won't even recognize a network meaning that it doesn't even recognize the USB device. ed: I don't think the USB is a wireless networking card, it's small and simple receiver...

And of course every method of trying to transfer files from this computer has failed. I actually found the installation CD, but it didn't work squat after 4 attempts (wouldn't complete installation) I then tried to get the 2wire receiver drivers off the 2wire website. Got those, then tried to copy them to a Floppy. Floppy drive is broken. I then tried to burn a copy onto a CD. CD ...
