I was going through my preferences and I saw this rule named "Full Stop"…but I don't know where it came from (I have another computer and it doesn't have it). I looked it up online but couldn't really find anything, which I thought was odd. Can anyone tell where this comes from? I disabled it, but haven't deleted it yet. Thanks...

The thing is it's a private computer, no one else has access to it. Plus like I said, my laptop doesn't have it. (And usually anything computer-related is easy to get information online, but I literally found nothing about this one.) Just feels odd. (I'm going to keep looking for info on it, when I have a little more free time.)...

What are the conditions and actions that define the rule? Click on "edit" and see what it does. It's disabled, so you might as well take a peek at it and see what it's been doing for who knows how long before you discovered it and deactivated it. Did you ever import a mail account onto this computer? Did you ever copy a ~/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist file or an entire ~/Library/Mail...

I don't think I ever imported a mail account into this computer, or copied any preferences or directories relating to Mail into it (I added a laptop last year and I did synchronize the two machines but as I said the rule doesn't appear in the laptop). It reads as follows: Description: Full Stop If 'any' of the following conditions are met: 'Every Message' Perform the ...

Well, if that was your first rule, and you were wondering why none of your rules ever seemed to be doing their job, that's why. The rules are evaluated in order and as soon as this rule would be encountered as the first rule, it would not evaluate any more rules because for every message, the rulee said to stop evaluating rules. I guess it's one way of having a single "off" switch, ...

Everything was actually ok as I only had Apple News as a rule (I use SpamSieve instead of the built-in Junk Mail filter). I deleted it anyway.
