I contacted Timothy's and Keurig and got two different answers to this ... I relate espresso to the little 2oz servings, so I was wondering if I should set my Keurig B70 to the smallest cup size. Keurig told me yes. Timothy's told me it's not the same type of espresso that you make in an espresso maker ... it's more like regular coffee. So I'm confused. Before I make a cup from my ...

Depends on how picky you are.... There are 2 issues with the Keurig and making espresso. First is pressure, real espresso machines use very high pressure, Keurig does not even bearly use force. Second Keurig is optimized to brew faster, making even a normal cup of coffee on the weak side. So I would suspect that you will not get the full espresso taste/experience out of it, but ...

A Keurig will not make espresso. A true espresso is about 1.5-2 oz made from about 14-18 grams of coffee. (a double) A single is made from about 7 grams of coffee. An espresso is made under high pressure. You could make a concentrated coffee. by stopping the brew early. _________________ Scott Grindmaster OPOD Cuisinart SS-1 Keurig B60 Gaggia Carezza---Trying to learn real ...

Seems if you stop the brew early you just leave most of the un-brewed coffee in the K-Cup. It will be a tad bit strong but not that much. _________________ OPOD, Oh! ~~ Bunn My Cafe, Bunn My Cafe! ~~ Keurig B40 ~~ KitchenAid Compact 4-Cup Coffeemaker ~~ Keurig B30

A bold cup on the lowest setting is always my preferred way of brewing if I'm going to mix it with something (like milk). It's not real espresso, though.

Yea ... I recently got my machine and discovered that I can't stand the stuff. I also discovered I'm not a "Bold" coffee drinker. Although I love real espresso and drink it with only a few grains of sugar (unlike my wife's Italian uncles who upend the sugar dispenser until there is literally a peak of sugar rising above the coffee). _________________ Keurig B70

I am thinking about trying Timothy's Rainforest Espresso Decaf extra bold . Not as an espresso but as a regular 8 oz coffee. Has anyone tried this? How do espresso coffees taste when made in 8 oz sizes?

I absolutely hate it (tried it in 11oz). But that's just my opinion. So you know where my taste buds are at - I prefer mild coffees. I think that and another espresso comes in the Timothy's variety pack. _________________ Keurig B70

Timothy's rainforest espresso is wonderful, it is one of my favorite k-cups. I brew it at the 8 oz size. I found the decaf version to be not quite as good, seemed a little weaker. But still decent.
