Very impressive performance.

Impressive! She was the most annoying character in the movie...even more than Joshua. She is a perfect example of someone who is definately not ready to be a mom and not to mention her cold hearted attitude that we saw in the begining of the movie. No wonder her son ended up like that!

impressive I agree agree, but it is not about being ready to be a mum - it is psychological thing and called "Postnatal Depression" Some women kill themselves or end up in clinics after baby born. It is very important thing to be looked after.

It's not just postnatal depression though. In the commentary track the director talked about how she has some chemical inbalance/genetic disorder that she was born with and runs in her family, hence her being on meds all her life. I didn't get why sam rockwell's character would ever marry her in the first place, she's exactly the kind of damaged goods i stay far away from, lol.

She was a mess in this.

I thought she gave a great performance in this, but there really wasn't anything for her character to do but cry and get pissed. -Batman soundtrack? -Throw it.

Vera Farmiga did give a great performance but I liked Sam Rockwell's the best.

She annoyed the hell out of me the entire movie, I was so happy when they finally put her away.

I absolutely agree absolutely. This film was worth watching just for her performance.

Vera is great in everything. She's such a good actress. Sam Rockwell was also really impressive in this. "You're so cool, you're so cool, you're so cool."
