When I went looking for the 8.5" Dewalt, this saw was still priced at $364 in western PA.

Was the clearance price a printed tag, or hand written? If it's printed, then it's a company wide deal, as all clearance pricing comes down from corporate. Ask the tool world guy to price check it for you.

It was $364 in the computer. I had the tool associate look it up.

Still a great saw and the price can't be beat. I think I'll go and check for either the dewalt or this Hitachi.

Loses uses a system for clearance that looks at stock level, sales history and other contributing factors in determining mark down levels. The store manager has control over some aspects of this and thus prices end up being very YMMV. But yes the $ price does come from corporate, but what seems to be a local override. The best is when the local deal is % off...

I've very jealous. Amazing deal for a great 10" slider. In Riverton, UT it is marked $448. I had the associate check the price, but the computer also said $448. FYI, they haven't carried this at the Lehi, UT Lowes for at least the last 4 months (I'm in the market for a 10" slider, so I've been watching these). I would have jumped on this for $300 or below....
