In my review of this film ( http://www.digital-retribution.com/reviews/dvd/022 7.php ), Will500 left this comment: 'This remake is considerably scarier than the original. I was surprised at how good it was considering the mixed reviews it received. It will really make you jump whereas the original is quite boring. I always wondered why the original had a cult following because it ...

Haha!! You give it 5 Aussies J.R,thats like wow to imo. What would you give the film by itself, minus the extras?(which i see now is a new feature in the reviews)

I don't need to see this movie to know it sucks. Why would they remake something that was already great?

I enjoyed it, and stand by the quality of filmmaking (I still think it is quite claustrophobic) but I wouldn't ...

But I do have a basis. First of all, I'm hard pressed to name five quality horror films that have been made since 2000. So much garbage, Wrong Turn, Prom Night, F VS J, Jason X, Ghost Ship, need I go on? The only good ones I can even think of right now are the 28's, Cloverfield (if you count that as horror) and Rob Zombies Halloween. I can also base my opinion on what the entire world ...

...but still, to say something sucks without ACTUALLY seeing it makes that opinion unfounded. My daughter always told me that she didn't like broccoli, cause all her friends didn't like broccoli. Eventually she tried it: and now all she wants to eat with her dinner is broccoli. Just cause everyone else hates something, doesn't mean you necessarily will. The 'evidence' you present is ...

Ok, do you need to see Ice Cube in "Are we done yet" to know it sucks? I know it sounds like I'm prejudice against movies but thats really the way it is. Theres a lot of s**t out there I don't need to see to know it's bad. I like watching bad movies actually, like Robot Monster, and Plan9 or School for Scoundrels just so I can say I've seen them. My point is that when this movie came ...

Quote from: Bela Lugosi on June 09 2008, 08:53:37 PM My point is that when this movie came out, I knew it was going to suck. I had the same view before watching the film, and was pleasantly surprised. The original TCM is of course far better IMO, but the remake was admirably done, even by my high standards.
