Does anyone know if they make a garage door opener that mounts on a bike? I would like to find a nice chrome one that mounts on your handlebars. I carry mine in my coat pocket but have to stop take off gloves and unzip pocket push button ... Pain in the butt! My drive is gravel and up-hill. Would be nice just to hit a button and drive in. Ideas? Thanks DS

The cheapest and easiest way yo go is to use double sided tape and tape the remote to the neck of the frame in front of the gas tank. Then, lean forward and press the button.

There's a couple of different ways I've seen this done. One is to velcro the opener to the inside of one of the side covers and put a button on top. The cleanest I've seen this done is with an odometer trip switch. See here for pics and details: http://www.vtxoa.com/forums/viewtopi...=garage+ope ner The other is wire the opener to your high beam switch. When you pull up just turn the high beams ...

Eh. I think I'll keep it in my pocket. That looks simple, but I don't want to drill a hole in my thingy.

I put mine in my windshield bag, clipped on the metal strip that holds the bag to the windshield. The bag has one of those easy to manipulate turn-snap clasps. Pretty easy to push the button and it's protected from the rain. But my geeky nature likes that style that mounts behind the side cover. Might have to do that instead ...

Like Tim, I have my remote clipped inside the windshield bag. I have a National Cycles bag which is extremely soft and pliable. After a few tries I'm pretty good now at hitting the button through the bag. It's waterproof and I don't even have to stop to open the bag. I do like the idea of hitting the high beams though! I got a weatherized push button from one of those places that rent construction equipment and mounted it to the handlebars left of the windshield bag with a rubber lined handlebar clamp. I wired that into the remote which stays inside the windshield bag. Some shrink wrap around the contacts on the bottom of the switch and I'm in business. It's not as elegant as the high beam idea, but only ...
