Toshiba HD-A30 Displays Only At 1080i not "p" HELP | Thread profile

I bought a Toshiba HD-A30 recently (and yes, I plan on keeping it even if blu-ray is winning). I recently noticed that the front interface of the toshiba shows that I'm only watching at 1080 i and not "p". 1) HD-A30 DOES support 1080p 2) Sony XBR3 DOES support 1080p 3) Pioneer Elite VSX-92TXH DOES support 1080p 4) All my Monster and Monocables are 1.3a which DOES support 1080p What's going on...

Is this on all movies you watch? Have you tried going into the A30 menu and forcing 1080p/24 to on?

1080i is just as good as 1080p for 24fps movies becuase they are encoded using 3:2 pulldown which any TV made in the last 2 years or so is able to properly de-interlace to exact 1080p (either 24fps or 3:2 PD at 60 fps). If the TV has a FILM mode, be sure to turn it on to activate this functionality. The only time you might lose is if the TV can't deinterlace and inverse telecine 1080i properly....
