hey. i finally bought my new computer: Asus P5N-SLi intel core 2 duo E6750 2 GB Corsair DDR2-800 XMS2 GeForce 8800 GTS 320 MB now, my problem is that during windows installation the system repeatedly froze and i had to press reset to continue setup. after like 4 reset's i finally had win xp installed but after some random period of time the system kept freezing and i had to press...

I have a suspicion that the random freezing you're experiencing might be memory-related, particularly if it's happening even when you're still installing the OS. Check your BIOS setup to make sure you're running your memory at standard speed and timings (choose "By SPD" or "Auto" for your DRAM Clock and Timing settings, if available). 'auto' settings for memory don't seem to work with this particular mobo when equipped with this particular ram. i've read some interesting things about that over on the corsair forums... i changed all the timing settings to match the memory's specs now and tried something else i read on the forums: i took out one gig of ram and now the system is relatively stable. but for some strange reason ...

any BIOS updates for your motherboard? I think the CPU may not be supported properly which could equal the BSOD's.

my cpu's officially supported in this bios version. i looked around some other forums and found there are LOTS of users who have problems with this board and most of them especially in combination with the same ram i bought. i just called the shop and am sending the mobo back to get a new one (different one, not the same again). hopefully i'll have something better to report in a few days...
