I installed a PowderRiver 'safety lever' today in my XD Tactical. If you can dissasemble your XD, then you can add this mod but if you DONT have an overtravel screw, your going to sell this part short. If you contact Powder River, he will instal the screw and the part for you as a package deal. I added my overtravel myself a couple of years ago. I put this part in and was very impressed with...

what is the benefit of this over a springer kit? Are the two kits compatable?

That is very impressive...I was just thinking yesterday about how long the reset is on the XD. I had nothing to compare it to until I got a 1911 with a sweet trigger on it.

The "area" of change that makes Scott's trigger jobs remove pretravel, is the same thing that this part does, so if you put both of them in you'll have "too much of a good thing" and your sear won't go up enough to engage the striker or release the grip safety. So you'll have a gun with the grip safety always depressed and won't ever cock.

For one, if you drill and tap your own trigger bar, the cost of this project is under $50 even if you have to buy a few parts/tools to make it happen. The trigger bar and sear mod from Pistol gear will run you $140. __________________ "Freedom is a light for which many men have died in darkness" "I...

Sounds liike exactly what I'm looking for. It also requires that you use an adjustable trigger bar (With set screw) like the one shown in the picture correct? Where can I pick one of those up at. I'm pretty mechanically inclined but I really don't have the equipment to drill and tap the stock one. RE

Hmm... I'm assuming it fits all models? 9/40 and 45ACP? I might have to try one or two of them. Time to try drilling and tapping a few trigger bars I guess. What size screw does everyone use? Damn. I wish Tony lived closer. One of these levers, a (self) drilled/tapped trigger bar and a $20 spring kit would be a pretty sweet, and extremely cheap home-made trigger job.

Is there a list of mods available from PowderRiver somewhere - their website at www.powderriverprecision.com doesn't seem to have much listed. This looks like a good mod! Phil

So, is it something my newbie self could do? I haven't yet fully taken the gun apart, but I would like to be able to do a trigger job, and this seems like a good way to do it.
