Do you mean a Patrick Eggle LA Plus? If so, the luthier I use built most of the top-end Eggle's in the 90s, and he knows Trevor quite well. From memory, moving the arm itself turns an internal collar, which then locks the trem. It only worked if the trem itself was flat, and almost resting on the collar when unlocked, but if an average Joe has reset it then he wouldn't have known of ...

I have a Berlin Pro with the same trem. It's a bit of a pain to set up at first but, after owning the guitar for 14 years, I've got the hang of it. Somewhere I should have the set-up instructions that Eggle faxed me all those years ago. If I can dig them out I'll find a way to send them to you. Chris
