Hi I am currently also looking for a budget bass (around £200-250).There're not too much options.E.g. Yamaha RBX374, Ibanez GS300 or GSS300, Washburn T14 or T24. I am not considering things like Legacy or Squier. I have a Squire 'special' bass (the one both with jazz and precision pickups). It is a perfectly good instrument (unlike the Squier strats I've played, which seemed horrible). Should be in the price range you are looking at. -------------------- Battle flags are flown at the feet of a garden gnome.

tanglewoods and yamahas are particularly known for good cheap basses. or an old used bass like a tokai and all those discontinued names if you dont mind some time setting it. steer clear of stagg, and 5 strings at this price range.
