Because he's too good NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP)—Nine-year-old Jericho Scott is a good baseball player— too good, it turns out. The right-hander has a fastball that tops out at about 40 mph. He throws so hard that the Youth Baseball League of New Haven told his coach that the boy could not pitch any more. When Jericho took the mound anyway last week, the opposing team forfeited the game, ...

I can't believe she's "discussing legal options." It's really the golden age to be a lawyer. EDIT- read it wrong.

this actually isn't unusual.... pudge rodriquez became a catcher because in his little leagues the coaches wouldn't let him pitch because he threw too hard.

If I were that kid, I would get reinstated as a pitcher, and then I would plunk the kid of whoever made the decision that I couldn't pitch. I'd hit him as hard as I possible could.

If this were my kid I'd be fucking pissed off... I'd be seeing attorneys as well. But it may be because I kicked the shit out of the league admins and the "worried parents"

They has to be more to the story Based on the fact that they mentioned it was a small league and had co-ed teams it seems that he is playing in the wrong league. He should be pitching on a team in a more competitive league not a recreational league. Oh and $50 sign-up fee? Sounds like a duffers league to me.

stories like this crack me up. Parents just need to chill out and let their kids play ball. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,410162,00.html A Connecticut youth baseball team with a phenomenal 9-year-old pitcher has been disqualified because its team is too good. The team, Will Power Fitness, has an 8-0 record thanks in large part to pitcher Jericho Scott, the New Haven Register reports. His pitching is so fast and accurate, the Liga...
