I just got a mesa boogie trem-o-verb and I have a couple of questions. How do you make it 50 watts instead of 100 watts? I don't know anything about effects loops, except that they're supposedly good. How would you suggest I set my effects up in the loop? (Assuming I don't put all of them in it) This is the order: guitar->dunlop wah->small stone phaser->big muff fuzz->boss ...

You can make it 50 watts by pulling out the two outer (or two inner) power tubes. Then doubling the expected speaker load (eg. running an 8 ohm speaker off the 4 ohm output). Put the phaser, chorus and delays in the loop. The wah and the fuzz in front of the amp.

he means the impedance. if you look on the back of your cab, it probably says like 8 ohms, or 16 ohms or something, some cabs are switchable. mesa heads i'm pretty sure are 8 ohms (non switchable) so if you can, run it thru a 16 ohm cab. if i remember correctly, this isn't really needed, but definitely recommended.

As i mentioned above, if you're using an 8 ohm cab run it off the 4 ohm output. As ^ said. It's not essential. If you don't do it - the amps not going to blow up or anything. It's just reccomended, and if you want to retain a long tube life.

I'm pretty new to tube amps, the only one I've had before this is a valve junior. There's 2 gigantic tubes, 4 big tubes, and I think 6 small ones, the power tube are the 4 big ones right? I just pull out the two inner or outer, got that. It's a 2x12 combo, is there a way to find out how many ohms the cabinet is? One more question. I'm not exactly sure how to use the effects loop, I ...

You might want to try to put the digital delay in front of the amp. I run two delays and I like having one in front to give me a different sound. If you run it in the effects loop and have distortion on, then you're only distorting the first note. If you have it in front of the amp, then you are distorting all of the notes that repeat as well, especially if you put it after the big muff.
