I think it is wonderful. I love big engineering projects. If we had to build TVA in this political climate--it wouldn't get done.

This is an amazing project, but it is interesting to wonder how the environmental effects will play out over the coming decades. You're right, the whole argument about sediment does carry undertones of the New Orleans situation. Shanghai does have at least 1 great advantage over New Orleans though, its not built below sea-level!
