I need computer help please (Troubleshooting) What happend- ADM2700 socket A Windows 2000 pro WD 40gig almost full (about 85%) Antec 400W PS My computer was bogging down and acting a little wierd. I restarted through Window's. It rebooted fine, then I could conect to the internet but MSoutlook would hang. I shut down through Windows and it would not POST when I powered on. Took the case cover...

wow that sux man. i would say is send the mobo back, and get a same socket cheapest cpu, then test it.

See if you can hotwire it from another PSU. I recently had a PSU break after the owner had a powercut. It powered up the PC, ran the fans and opened the cd drawers but wouldnt boot the PC up. I hooked it up to another PSU and it booted up to bios right away. Worth a try before you start swapping and changeing other parts.

Thanks so much for the feedback guys. I do appreciate it much. I think I will price out a new PC on a budget. If I do buy a new CPU it would be 20% cost of a new computer. Unfortunately fixing my socket A rig is no smarter than fixing a VCR. Plus it is hard to even find good, quality replacment parts. They really are phasing out the socket A. Thanks again, Danimale
