I crossed 2 areas today on a back road where there was a concrete wash with a small water flow. I'm guessing there was moss or algae growing because it was slippery as heck. My back tire slid a bit and I was completely level , not accelerating or decelerating/braking through it. I can't imagine there's any other way to approach this, but I thought I'd ask anyway. Yeah, moss or algae under water is hard enough just to walk across with out falling let alone riding across. I think you handled it the right way. Coasting through, going straight. I might have found another way around myself. I can imagine it would be really hard to pick up the bike if it falls over with nothing solid to get footing on.

Do a search on an article by member 'bestmaps' where he took a Triumph forging through 3 water crossings and did loose it! But it all came out good!

yep. Only advice is make sure the bike is perpendicular to the water flow, keep the bike upright and level, accelerate while the front tire crosses, 0 throttle while the back crosses. In Bestmaps case, the only thing he forgot was a paddle...

I had a similar experience but there was mud hidden under the water. The back of the bike shifted a bit to the left but luckily I didn't go down.
