I just got my M1 endorsement and took the safety class. You want to know how much this actually saved me over the course of an entire policy? Less than $8!!!!!! The policy cost twice as much as it costs both my wife AND self to insure an Explorer and Accord (with much higher coverages)! WTF!!! I'm over 30 (had good grades when it mattered), married, spotless record, and ride a $...

And it's a high tumbling punt headed towards the one inch line! It pays to shop. I've been with progressive for many years but when I traded into a new truck they almost lost me. I think there is a lot of difference in prices from agent to another...IMO.

You're doing something wrong... A brand new Ninja 250 should cost me, at 19 years old, with no MSF course, less than $1000/year for full coverage. For someone in their 30's, married, with a course it should be a few hundred.

Try Allstate, I've dealt with them for years and they gave me pretty decent insurance for the bike. It does sound like you're getting ripped.

I'm with American Family. I pay $150 a year for my Virago. A 600cc sportbike would cost me around $700 a year. A cruiser or a 1200cc+ sport touring bike would cost me around $500 a year. I'm 28 and married with an ok driving record. They flat out told me that they don't give discounts if you take the MSF course.

Yeah, I'd call around. I'm with Progressive. Ninja 650, I'm 42, married, clean record, took the course 21 years ago. It may have something to do with being a new rider. I don't know. Your price seems steep. My renewal just came through @ $108.00 for the year.

I like having an old bike for just this reason. 80 smackers a year. I'm with Progressive, I would check that policy, you've got something wrong on that policy. loudest143

My 1200C Sportster, considered "Heavy Cruiser" because of the CC's, costs me $185 a year with progressive.
