First thing: Don't ride the bike in this condition. It's an accident waiting to happen. You really need to be in control of your bike at all times. You didn't fully explain what was wrong with the handlebars that caused the dealer not to want to fix the bike. I think this is probably the root of the problem. The handlebars should not have any play in them.

If you have Dunlops, this can be the result of their dual compound tires where the center ridge is harder rubber than the sides. What happens is that as the sides wear away, they leave a center ridge. I had to get rid of them on my Sabre because suddenly at 65 mph the whole front end would wobble. Almost to the point of being a tank slapper. Metzlers are on there now, and no problems going ...

i just went and checked, they are Dunlops. they appear to have plenty of tread left? or does that not matter? does it matter that this is happening at speads of 20-40 mph? on the way to work today i was doing 70 on the freeway, and luckily nothing happened. but at lunch is when it started. and then on the way home, and just now, i checked the tire pressures, then took it out again....

Could it be that one of the wheels have lost the balance weights? Is the rear wheel still centered?

My Dunlops had lots of tread too. The mechanic at the shop said he has a whole pile of used ones to dispose of. All for the same reason. Wobbles! I have to admit that you are talking really low speed. I can only say what happened to me.

Hey Caddy, this is an interesting article about front end wobble. I'm not sure if it's the same as what you're experiencing, but it's worth a look. http://www.msgroup.org/Tip.aspx?Num=190
