seems like a good idea to me. Any time you use an adhesive you generally want a clean surface to apply it to. Any dirt, dust or grime could prevent it from sticking properly. And besides it will take you all of 3 mins to clean the area. Just do it to be safe.

rubbing alcohol if has wax on it. you can also pour HOT water over it. I would just use the rubbing alcohol and cotton. That should do the trick

Pm BROLO, he did mine for free but he charged me to put on the rim tape on my ride. He got everything lined up nicely.

Wash the tank with dish soap... Rinse it... Wipe the area you want to apply the sticker with alcohol. Get your sticker ready. Using a spray bottle, spay a light coat of water on the tank and place the sticker on top... Because you spayed it with water, you can now move the sticker around to it's final location. Use a credit card to remove the water from under the sticker
