Well theres nothing really wrong at all with my pc but I was just wondering if should flash my bios with the latest version. I like having things up to date...so good/bad idea? I'd like some opinions before I (potentially) cause a screw up

Power failure while you write to the BIOS may mean having to get a professional with the right equipment to fix the BIOS. i.e. - If you're running on a UPS that will give you like 30 seconds of full power then go for it. - If you have a dual bios board and know how to switch to the other BIOS - then go for it. You can always revert back to the old BIOS. But ... if something goes wrong while you'...

The most important thing is read the BIOS flashing guide 20 times over so that you know by heart what to do, if you're going to do a windows flash you might as well leave it, and flash the BIOS in increments of two versions, for instance ver2 then ver4 then ver 6, that's the best way, don't flash from 1 to 8

Well I'm not on a UPS so power out can definitely hurt me...but hey the only reason I wanna do it is coz on my previous PC when I flashed the bios I noticed my HDDs and things being initialized quicker and everything generally a bit faster. By the way the mobo is a MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum..I think my version now is 1.4. Teraside I know what you mean bout reading the instructions 20+ times. It's ...
