What does Allah mean when He refers to Himself as We? I hope i am not asking a question that has been already asked............ Salaamz also i made the "We" highercase in the title but for some reason it got made lowercase. This post has been edited by Checkmatez : Jul 19 2008, 12:27 PM

Some people will tell you that it refers to angels or aliens or other beings.... It refers to Allah.

"We" is simply the plural of respect. Many Eastern languages have this royal plural; it isn't used much in English, but we occasionally hear the Queen refer to herself as 'we'. "We are not amused".

Salaam allaikum, Its just a grammar thing in arabic. When translated directly it says we but in arabic it doesn't mean that in the plural sense.

Thanks for asking this question....I always had the notion that "we" was referring to Allah (swt) and his angels..but thanks for the clarification.
