salam well maybe everybody here established that i'm different from many people here for me only the koran is beyond critic and everything else must be studied thouroughly i might be wrong but i'm not keen on al-kafi at all , i've studied it a lot and i think sheikh al-kulaini was too lenient when compiling it i have doubts that he had really met imam al-mahdi , i cant say he ...

I think that al-Kafi is particularly renown (as it should be) amongst us as it was the first work of its kind. That is, if you look at the earlier collections, whether the usool or other works, they are usually much smaller, and either concentrate on a single topic, or if they discuss a number of them, are not as clearly organized as al-Kafi is. There is no proof Sheikh Kulayni met with Imam Mahdi or one of his deputies. The oft-quoted saying "Kafi is sufficient for my Shia" attributed to Imam al-Mahdi is a fabricated one and first appeared 700 years after Kulayni's time without any chain of narrators. Sheikh Kulayni was a great man and the book is a great one yet it is undeniable that he included many weak and some fabricated ...
