I've been reading about seroxat (I was on this in the uk before I moved to oz) and I'm frightened about how I'm feeling. I'm so paranoid I am driving my husband mad. I feel my brain is a mess and don't know why. I've been having thoughts of suicide all week - sometimes the thought of death is the only way to feel better. When will I feel better? I feel I'm not coping with anything very...

Forgot to add I'm not sleeping at all - herbal meds don't work and neither does stilnox. Doc friend gave me temazepam which gives me a few about 5-6 hours. Seeing psych tonite - what should I get from him - i really need help.

Wee T- I also had terrible problems with paranoia- I experienced it really severely. The advice I can give you is to wait. For me there was no other solution and I am so sad to tell you that I had to wait for a very long time. It was between 9-12 months that this began to recede for me. You have only been off the paxil for two months. My heart goes out to you. I know what you are feeling...

Wee T- I also had the brutal insomnia. I am sleeping much better now. I used benzos sparingly to sleep until I got to 6 months- and then somehow I did without them. This has also greatly improved with time. akaenew

Dear Wee-T, Because of the severity of your symptoms I wanted to post really quickly. I don't have an answer just yet although looking at your taper schedule and your going onto Zoloft I believe the severity of your symptoms may well be to do with this combination. However, I just wanted to say that truly nothing is so bad that death is better and you are just overwhelmed with horrible...

You've been back and forth on drugs, so it's hard to tell what's Paxil, what's Xyprexa, what's Zoloft. I'm afraid there's not just one drug to blame here. Time, patience, and therapy are the only things that are going to help. Getting another drug, if that's what the psych suggests, is most definitely NOT the answer.

Wee T- I'm sorry, I guess I did not read your sig carefully. I didn't realize you moved to Zoloft. I agree with the others that moving from paxil to zoloft may be exacerbated your symptoms. Time really does help. I felt the desperateness and hopelessness. I don't any more. It does get better. akaenew I'm not sure I am helping here. I just want to tell you I know what you are ...

More importantly to my wellbeing is knowwing that all this will end - please someone tell me it will eventually end.

It will. I had severe, severe withdrawal. I was hopeless, lost. But now I am getting back into life. For me it took a long time, and no one, including me, could believe how long it was taking. It is an unbelievable experience and hard to describe unless you have been there. I was here daily fighting for my life. I could not have done it without PP. This forum means a great deal to me....

Wee T- try to manage the insomnia very carefully. I used alprazolam very sparingly when I was absolutely desperate. I was able to sleep then, but the problem for me is that after it wore off, I felt worse than ever- some sort of rebound phenomenon. I'm sorry to tell you that diphenhydramine (Slimply Sleep, Dramamine) did not work for me. Valarian drops, melatonin- it just didn't help me. ...

Wee-T, Sadly I think your body and brain are screaming for Paxil. Taking another SSRI is a doctors favourite way of treating poop-out but it didn't work for me. I ended up with just the same horrible dark thoughts that you are experiencing. In my case I stopped the new SSRI and reverted to Paxil at the old dose (albeit I am in poop-out at 20mg) and hope to be able to taper down much much more slowly. At least the withdrawal symptoms do...

I don't know if the zoloft is increasing how you feel, but I feel certain you're still going through paxil withdrawal. I could have written everything akaenew wrote. Before I found this group, I thought nothing would ever get better. I knew I loved life, but the way I felt in withdrawal I felt was not worth living, and I really was afraid I'd never get better. Now I have better days and never am as bad as I was earlier in...

50mg 13 july 75mg 16 july That's a big jump in zoloft after only 3 days on. If you're not feeling well now, it's probably a combination of Paxil withdrawal + Zoloft side effects. I don't have much advice except to have you look at the reality of these drugs. You're feeling worse instead of better...I would be tempted to go back to Paxil, stabilize and then wean extremely off Paxil. I can't think of one person who...

Regarding the insomnia: I did not like temazepam - I found it gave me only 3 or 4 hours of poor quality sleep, followed by crazy dreams and nightmares! I found midazolam better, although it did not give me any longer sleep, at least it did not give me nightmares. You might think of trying zopiclone (Imovane), it gave me 6 to 8 hours of much better quality sleep, almost as good a natural sleep - apparently it does not 'disprupt the...

Wee, I have a lot of empathy for your situation. I felt terrified and suicidal many times during my withdrawal, and I was only going off 20mg of Paxil. I am now 26 months off and feeling immensely better. I still have occasional episodes of depression but overall feel like I am mostly recovered. It really does get better!!! Hang on to that thought. I have been on this board two and a half years and have seen many many people go from...
