what type of PR are you interested in? Because honestly, everything you need to know is learned on the job, not in school.

I would never go to school for PR. You end up in the same place professionally as those who didn't go to school. I think anyone you talk to would agree with me. And by the way, I'm in PR. At my last job, I was in the same position as someone who was two years older than me and went to grad school for PR. It obviously didn't help her....

I want to do entertainment PR. I have my bachelors in Music Industry. Anytime I go for an interview I'm told the following: -Your major seems too spread out, you didn't focus on PR at all, we aren't sure you are qualified. -You aren't qualified, have no experience. -Do you have clippings? (NO!) Help? I really feel I need to learn something......

Get an internship.

do not go to school! I was a Sociology major and have been working in entertainment PR for 6 years. INTERNSHIPS ARE KEY!

I had an internship in a record label. Except it was in the marketing department. The problem is I'm 25 years old I can't afford to do an internship when they are for college students...

where are you interviewing? my only other suggestion would be to get a job with a temp agency that focuses on entertainment jobs. but i can't stress enough how a masters is not going to get you anywhere.

Does anyone know of temp agencies that focus on entertainment? Or of places that will offer internships to someone not in college? -I've interviewed at record labels for publicity department positions. Just assistant positions also...
