HC hit the nail on the head. When I got my Llewellin, I spent hours on the phone with my breeder in selecting the right dog. If I were to get another setter, I would probably look at highcotton's dogs. All the pictures I have seen have been great looking dogs and he is very highly spoken of...

So what do you need to ask the breeder and what should you expect the breeder to ask of you to find the right dog?

The breeder will want to know what traits you want in a dog. Do you want a dog with range, speed and style or a slow close working dog? What type cover do you hunt? What game birds? Weather conditions where you plan to hunt, cold or hot? and on and on.....
