There is nothing artistic about placing a stencil on someone and coloring it in. Ive done tattoos for over 15 yrs, I dont think Im the "highschool drop out god of tattoos" like most tattooists. I'm all for self expression- tattoos are cool and I'm completely all for them. But I think (like anything) tattoos can become a walking advertisement- like those stupid butterflies.

They are art. It's just that tattoos are permanent and is something you'd have to think hard about. Plus, tattoos make people look exotic, and when it comes to careers and scuh, that's not a good thing. This is why tats get a bad rep, but it's really just art.

Ive seen some truly great tattoo's. Im not into getting tattoos myself as Im more of a pleasure person, besides, I will probably regret it once Im an old man. But some of them are very much art, just because the tools and canvas are different, it doesnt make it any less artistic.
