Unless you are using a stereo mic, you probably should have your track set up to record mono. Also depending on your sound card, it is likely that whatever input you have the mic going into is only one side of a stereo pair of inputs. In other words, inputs 1 and 2 are probably configured so input 1 is the left side of the stereo pair and input number 2 is the right side of the stereo pair. ...

mics are mono instruments (unless you have a specialty stereo mic), so if you record into a mono track it will be panned straight down the center unless you change the panning. if you're recording a mono mic into a stereo track, then it will record ONLY on the left channel.

how to center the voice then? The voice signal isn't on the left channel only... It's on the left channel mainly, while there is a low signal on the right channel... I might use panning but how to know when voice is perfectly centered?

If you are using a standard mic (not a stereo mic) then it should be a non issue, in that you should have the track you are recording to set to mono. Unless you are feeding the track a true stereo signal, then you can eliminate the issue by simply using the track in mono mode rather than stereo. I believe that if you already have it recorded, changing it from a stereo track to a mono track ...

what soundcard are you using? if using your onboard soundcard, then the inputs may be bleeding, especially if you're using a stereo adapter to plug the mic into it. regardless of that, if you select your track you're recoridng your mic as a MONO INPUT then you will get a mono, centered recording. don't select the STEREO INPUT of your soundcard as the input to your audio track - select ...

you probably have recorded to a stereo track as others have said too.. the easiest, fastest and dirtiest way out of this is to right click the clip of that track.. and select something like "process to mono".. just look for "mono" there should only be one entry anyway.. The problem with this is that you probably have only noise on the right channel, and that will be mixed to the left ...

I don't know which sound card or interface you are using, but... in Sonar in the inputs of your vocal track you should have options to choose left, right or stereo of what ever input you are plugged into. If you have one mic into one channel and that channel is 1, 3, 5, 7 etc. it is a left channel. If it is 2, 4, 6, etc. it is a right channel. Choose the left or right depending on the track input...
