Hi, I have a Chamberlain Liftmaster 1040-6 that blew the thermistor on the circuit board due to a broken lamp socket that caused a short. Does someone have an idea where I could obtain one of those thingies? Thanks, Ed

There are all kinds of numbers on the C/B. Which one do you need?

If the opener does not have the safety sensors you may not find the part. Manufacturers quit making parts for operators without safety sensors.

I know they have stopped supporting this old opener. That's why I an asking here. What is this forum good for anyway? What I need is just the NTC surge protector on the C/B board, a piece for about $2.

If it has an integrated Circuit board you can still get parts for it. For individual components on the C/B, However you will have to get from an electronics store I.E. Radio shack. I don't even know what a thermistor is so you obviously know more about electronics than anyone who has looked at this post. On the C/B are about 2 or 3 numbers I need the one that looks something like this 41A4252-...

This thermistor (NTC) limits the current the moment the opener is started to protect vital parts on the C/B. I probably could get one at Radio Shack, the problem is that I don't know the exact specs of this burnt thingy.
