AFI put out their "America's Top 10 Films in 10 Classic Genres" on their website: http://www.afi.com/10top10/ And unfortunately there is no horror category. However I did find some titles that could be considered horror among the categories: Fantasy #4 King Kong (1933) Mystery #1 Vertigo #3 Rear Window #8 Blue Velvet Science Fiction: #4 A Clockwork ...

What a load of shit those list are! The Sci-Fi list doesn't have Serenity ? The animation list is all Disney? Not one Sergio Leone film in the western list (before you tell me it's not American, explain to me how Lord of the Rings and Kubrick's films are American)?!?!? NO FREEKIN' HORROR CATEGORY!!!??? FUCK the AFI! They're as bad as the Oscars.

After looking at those lists, I have to agree with LaMort: these people pretty much suck. How is Lawrence of Arabia and All Quiet On the Western Front "American?" Cat Ballou is a top-ten Western? Really? No Bad News Bears? That movie pisses all over that Bull Durham and Field of Dreams bullshit. And Back To the Future? C'mon people! No Star Trek II, Planet of the Apes, or the ...

The only thing they did right was 2001 as the best Sci-Fi. The AFI's a goddamned joke. I'm embarrassed that they're our "authority" on film. Fuck the AFI.

No horror category? Well, I guess it's unanimous, then. All together now: FUCK THE AFI! Fuck 'em in the ear! Fuck 'em in the other ear! Fuck their momma! Fuck their underage daughter! Fuck 'em and the little girl's bike they rode in on!
