I have decided to bite the bullet and hire myself a personal trainer - first session is tomorrow. A little bit of background - I used to enjoy a reasonable level of fitness and the gym / classes was a regular part of my life. However, I have always found it difficult to lose weight and can't honestly say I've ever loved the body I've had. I have put about a stone on over the last year...

Ooh well done lewseyk! I've used a PT before and they were excellent. Made me work so much harder than I would have myself and really motivating. You'll be so glad you did it, I promise

Fank you. I don't know what's happened to me - I just seem to have let myself go and I can't get to grips with myself. I am quite tall (5ft 8 and bit) and I have managed to get away with quite a bit because of this, but I can hide anywhere anymore. Out of my whole wardrobe I have two pairs of trousers that fit me (only because I bought them about a month ago), and my bra size ...

And your PT will do just that! In a way how you're feeling just now is good as it will help motivate you. You know what you want to change and what you need to do, now just need to do it - and that's what a PT is so good for. They'll help you through the first stages where you don't yet see a difference (even though it is having an effect) so can get despondent but will keep pushing you until...

I am so hoping so can't feel much lower than I do so I guess the only way is up It feels very indulgent though and I have told a couple of friends that have drawn a sharp intake of breath. But it's money well spend in my eyes if I see results

Lewsyk I hired mine about two years ago after my mother's death. I like you had got a bit chunky after in effect losing all my free time dealing with my mother during her illness. This is just the right time for you to hire a PT as you now need to do something for yourself and life-affirming. My PT was fantastic and is now a friend as well. Good for you, go for it and don't feel guilty. xxx...
