I don't understand your use of the word elitist in this context, do you know what it means? Yes. Absolutely. Explanation: As being a film club, the magnificent list of past and future films are most welcomed. The snag being, is that as I have frequented the club more and more it seems to pander to a minority rather than the majority and it seems to find it painful to want ...

I don't like to label films and I dislike the way many will overlook a movie because of how it may be perceived by their peers. I think all films should be judged by their ability to inspire human emotion. Films tell a story, if you don't feel moved by that story then the film has failed at it's primary task. At the end of the day what is 'art' and whose definition matters?...

I don't really understand you say it panders to a minority, and yet you also say that when it panders to the 'majority' less people turn up. Elitism also implies that something unfair is going on. Fantastic Planet isn't exactly a rare film, I mean anyone who's got TCM will be able to see it, or access to a decent video store. I always though that a film club should be an opportunity to ...

Evil Dead is considered an arthouse film now? Eh? …no… …that’s the point, because it isn’t, that’s why it would be great to see it at the film club, on the Big Screen, if, and I’m very much afraid, that it wont be chosen, because of the type of film it is. Sad but true… http://imdb.com/user/ur7361844/comments My Comments do the talking… . The ...
