It's not really a big issue IMO. We know the UFC offer bonuses for KO of the night, Submission of the night, Fight of the night, that's to help encourage the entertainment of a fight. I'd say 80% of the people who watched the event on Saturday were casual fans who don't know the difference between a 'arm bar' and a 'handle bar'. They tuned in purely to see someone get kocked out....

Yep, and it's back fired on them. I think it's widely known that it's something organisations do to help encourage exciting bouts.

It makes business sense for smaller org's. They give the fans what they want, Encouraging 2 fighters to stand and trade. Of course it does, in circumstances, favour a certain fighter. Morally wrong, But understandable.

It totally makes business sense for EliteXC to say that to Seth, but that kind of thing should not be allowed. In my eyes its kind of like match fixing, or at least helping the outcome of a fight! It just so hapopens that it back fired. It would be the same as saying to goalkeeper in football, attempt the majority of your saves with your feet! Sooner or later the desired outcome ...

It's morally wrong, But it's the chance he takes. If he wants more money, then he does it. If he's more concerned with glory and prestidge then he'll fight to the best of his ability regardless of the quick buck.
