QUOTE(fox88 @ Jun 5 2008, 11:42 AM) What happens today? Some use official, some use FineCs and some do not use any. eMule Plus is around for long enough, still no KAD. It is compatible with ed2k (more or less). It's still a valid client without KAD. Fine, so make it optional as well. And it's not like ePlus users aren't already missing out on other features by not using Kademlia (...

QUOTE defending from credit shapers is not penalizing anyone. LOL, this slight step is of no importance at all as far as credit shaping is concerned... Concerning the reward, decreasing it makes the CS more pointless (if it can be) without credit shaping... QUOTE anyway, what is your point? starting a row? well, good point! Oo Well, i haven't been on the forum for a while, ...

Well, there are other neverending discussions about Emule features. If I was the leader of the project I would go for removing the CS and adding ratio enforcing plus SUQWT. I can see these reasons for the CS: 1. it works against leeching. Of course this is only partially true because the CS is only a partial TFT mechanism. A strict TFT would make leeching impossibile. Lets say the CS is a ...

QUOTE Infact those who finally understand the CS doens't reward releasing (being TFT) simply unshare complete files and the CS comes back like a boomerang. Right, and in the end, nothing change because ppl are ignorant. Only few freaks try to look at their clients.met files and the credit systems....

That is not the point IMHO. There can be whatever side effect and the feature could still have sense if you get some positive gain from it. What I don't get is what main goal the CS tries to achieve, why my Emule is better with the CS than without. I mean, considering TFT is not "positive" in my understanding. But the CS actually boosts your DL once you are involved in a "ring of peers", aka a community of any kind. It can be a group of people with similar interests, simply those who are downloading the same group of files, or a real community. What the CS can't do is reward people for uploading complete files to the whole network, since it is not "centralized" so the credits you gain in that ...

QUOTE(Anoxie @ May 20 2008, 07:52 AM) There is a troll because nobody wants to admit it (publicly...) and remove this feature. there is nothing to admit. if you disaggree feel free to do so. we, however, might simply be smarter than you and realize why the CS was originally added and why it was changed in 0.48a. maybe you should start thinking about things like how many people ...
