I had an SS800. My bro had an ST2 that I stored and rode for a while. There's a reason I got an FZ6. I prefer riding to wrenching.

Ducati = the new Harley? that is one sexy bike, and one of the few i actually like in pure white... seems so innocent until you get to know her dirty little side....

From what I have read and seen the new motor design on the 848 is supposed to be less matenience intensive than the older bikes, I am going to look at one tonight and will talk to the dealer about service costs and such and report back

I recently went on a Ducati Demo ride.... had a multi strada 1100 fun bike lots of torque.... wheelied easy..... but the sound of it was crappy I would not ever want to own one... they do look nice though

I think that's for the 1098R (or race version). The regular version is only like $20K or something. You get to pick, buy a decent car or buy a Ducati 1098. The car will cost you much less in maintenance I am sure!

I happened to be in my local Ducati dealership (Richmond Motor Sports) a month ago when a lucky beggar was taking delivery of his new white 848. The bike had just returned from being shipped to a custom shop in California who did all sorts of neat (and not so neat) stuff to the bike, like chroming the rims and other items, and a custom exhaust. The Sales guy started the bike up in the showroom and revved it a couple of times. The world stood...
