I am wondering if the exhaust will get to hot for saddle bags without some sort of a gaurd. I just got a great deal on a set of Eclipse saddle bags; they have a soft fleece/cotton backing on the bags and I am wondering if I will need to do something so the bags/bike dont get damaged. If anyone has any ideas please let me know! Thanks!

I've been using the Cortech soft bags for a year now. The backing on them is a neoprene pad. They haven't melted or anything so I wouldn't worry about heat being an issue.

No, I bought it off of Craigslist.org...my recommendation is to look online on a site like ebay! You can really find some great deals! You also will probably start to see some great deals now that it is almost Spring time! Good luck!

If I may ask a related question: what happens when you get set up with a set of aftermarket cans, like Scorpions or Two Bros. Racing? They don't have the plastic "outer covers"...

Wow, I wouldn't have expected that. So I suppose getting carbon-fiber cans vs. aluminum or titanium may make a difference, too?

here is my solution .... I took two pieces of PVC painted black they fit snug over the passenger foot pegs pointing up they help keep the saddle bags away from the pipes.... here is a pic.... remember we had been riding 3 days in the rain when this pic was taken
