I'm looking into getting some HID's soon, most likely the 35w 4500k Apexcone/DDM kit, and was wondering whether I should just use the plug and play harness that comes with it or if I should get the battery harness w/ the relay. My main concern is that I have a Hifonics Zeus running 400 watts rms @ 2 ohms. This isn't very powerful and I haven't noticed any dimming of my stock halogens ...

With 35w you don't need the harness. You'll be pulling far less power than with your old halogen bulbs. Plug and play is the way to go.

i'd go 5000k, there's no blue at all and the light is pure white, even from the sides. with 4500k you'll get that sort of halogen look when you look at an angle, but that's my preference, just a suggestion.

even though the bulbs are 35 watt, isn't it more than that to power the actual ballast? just a question, im using the plug and play ones too.
